Pests and Diseases of Culinary Herbs

The Australian Herb & Spice Industry Association (AHSIA) is pleased to provide a copy of the posters – “Insect Pests of Herbs” and “Some Diseases of Herbs”.  The posters will be posted to all registered industry participants or they can be downloaded from the PDF Link below.

These posters are derived from project PRJ-000597 – An investigation into some important pests and diseases of culinary herbs, funded by the Rural Industries Research & Development Corporation (RIRDC), a project that investigated some important pests and diseases of culinary herbs.

In addition to investigating these important pests/diseases of herbs grown in Australia and producing this poster as an educational tool for growers and research/extension personnel to allow accurate identification of a range of pests and diseases encountered in herbs, the project also aimed to develop a mechanism to manage beneficial insects in field herb crops.

The principal investigator involved in this RIRDC-funded work was John Hargreaves from Queensland’s Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation (DEEDI).
